When the denominator is a nominal, multiply both the numerator and the denominator by its denominator until the denominator is no longer contains radical.
Example 1
---Times both numerator and denominator by its denominator.
---If the numerator is a whole number put it outside the radical. The denominators are both radical so times it and put inside the radical.
---Then rationalise the radical

Example 2
---Multiply the numerator and the denominator with the smallest perefect square from the radical.
---Put the whole number outside the radical. Times the denominator with denominator and put it inside the radical
--- Then rationalise the radical below
